Thankful Thursday

My boy moved up another level in reading. :)

I am so thankful for his teacher and his classmates and their families. Their dedication and support have created an unbelievably enriching environment. We are so fortunate.

Thankful Thursday

Reflect upon your present blessings, of which every man has many. Not on your past misfortunes, of which all men have some. – Charles Dickens

I am thankful for...
A job interview that went well.
New opportunities.
A great doctor.
Medical technology.
Healthy children who are thriving.
Optimism.
Friends.
Family.
The desire to help.

Thankful Thursday

I am thankful for a day with the kids.

I decided to keep Wilson home from school today and it was one of the best decisions I've made. It is his short day at school, so I knew that he wouldn't miss much. Besides he was going to have a sub (and he is only in Kindergarten) and I have had a really terrible week (with a migraine that wouldn't quit and cramping).

We slept in... Well, I actually didn't sleep in but I did relax in bed until the kids woke. We made paper airplanes, washed the dogs, vacuumed, worked on reading, watched and movie (I napped), and took down Halloween decor. It's been a great day!! Maybe I should keep the kids home every year on the day after Halloween...

Weekend for TWO

Chris and I are going to San Diego for the weekend! I can't believe it. He will have to pinch me on the plane...

First, I should say that we would not be able to take this opportunity if it was not for my mother in law, Babe. We are so very grateful that she is making her way across the U.S. to care for our kids. They are lucky. We are lucky! Thank you for your constant support and  love. We are so thankful. So.Thankful.

As far as the trip goes. It is for Chris' work. We have a work dinner and meeting on Friday and then we have ALL DAY Saturday and Sunday morning free. (Did I mention that we are not paying for this?! Total bonus.) We fly back late in the afternoon on Sunday. I know that I will miss my children terribly (the longest I have been away from Wilson was when I delivered Nora) but I will love every second with my husband. How could I not love it? We have not spent this much time alone in years... Literally. Years...

To prepare for our get away, I am getting things in order at the house. I have been prepping Wilson for us to be gone and have asked friends to be available if they are needed for support if anything were to happen and Babe needed them in an emergency.

I have told family what we want to happen incase something happens to us (we will be fine! but just encase.)
I have made up a schedule of what I attempt to do with the children on a daily basis. (If there is anything as a "schedule" with two.) I have tried to stock up on breast milk. I have given Nora bottles and I have introduced her to formula (Because I haven't been able to stock as much as I would like to.)

So, for two nights and three days everyone should be prepared.

I have not gotten my hair cut. I have not gotten a pedicure. But I will manage just fine. After all, if Chris cared about the condition of my hair and toes he would have left me years ago.

construction of the heart

We all have days that we feel especially grateful. Days when something, or someone seems to help put things into life's perspective. Today, has been one of those days for me. I am healthy. My baby girl is healthy. I am loved. I have these two wonderful people in my life. They can fix anything... With hard hats, or without them.
