Buck and Jame: WARNING huge stomach photos!

I thought I would give you an update before I headed to bed...
Buckeye is doing well. He is, as expected, acting like he never had surgery- running, jumping and chomping. You would never guess he was under the knife yesterday.

Tonight, we went out to eat with our friends Courtney and Jason. We haven't seen them in awhile and it was great to hang out again. It's refreshing and comforting to be around someone who is going through everything that I am. (Courtney is 32 weeks pregnant.) In a few months we will both have screaming little boys!! :) The fun is just beginning!!!

(Angie, the belly shots are for you.)
Gosh I am freakin HUGE!
Now on to my doctor appointment: It turns out that I am already 1 cm dialated which is kind of scary and exciting all at the same time. Scary because I am only 34 weeks and he isn't ready to come yet (37 weeks is considered full term; however, 40 weeks is my due date). My doctor has not put me on bedrest but has advised me to slow down and take it easy. I am to play work by ear and may or may not be able to work up to my goal date (Feb 8th). We need this guy to stay in put for another 3 weeks, at least. I am going back on Friday to see if I have progressed. Many woman stay at 1 cm for weeks but some move faster. Who knows?! Everyone and every pregnancy is different. (I am SO tired of hearing that!!)
The exciting part is that I am progressing and this little guy is going to be here soon (Hopefully, not too soon but soon none-the-less). Luckily, I am registered with the hospital now so if anything happens all we have to do is go to labor and delivery. Speaking of the registration- I had one of those Oh My Gosh moments during the registration. The nurse was discussing with me the security information and told me that Chris, the baby and I would all be given matching bands to wear and there was something about knowing that this little guy would be wearing the same number as Chris and I that made everything real. We made a little human that is part of Chris and I. We are about to change from a couple to a family. We are going to have a baby boy and I can't wait to meet him.

Jamie! That brought tears to my eyes! I am so excited for you guys. The most wonderful moment of your lives is just around the corner and I just can't wait to see the sweet little guy!

You really don't look very huge to me, either. You must not have gained much weight at all! Thank you for posting those pictures. I love your top, by the way....

P.S. Do y'all have a name picked out?

Tears to mine, too. I'm so excited for you. There is nothing better than meeting your new baby. I hope that he stays in for a few more weeks, though.

Thank you for the belly shots! I love your belly.

Again, tears to me too! I know what you're saying---of course you know you're pregnant the entire time(how could we forget), but it REALLY settles in at apts. like the one you just had. Isn't it scary, but yet so incredibly exciting at the same time? I can't wait to see the little guy!!! I bet he comes out with a beautiful head of thick, brown hair like yours. What do you think?

Oh, LOVE the shirt too!

No names yet. Everytime one of us really get used to one the other changes their mind. We have it narrowed down but I am set on seeing him before we actually name him.

I don't look huge because you aren't seeing me in person. Trust me I am going to have to workout like a mad woman to get this weight off. Remember I was at 30 pounds 2 months ago... I won't publish my actual gain- EVER! Okay, maybe after I am skinny again I will let others know of the amount but not until then.

Jamie,

You look like a beautiful, pregnant woman! Don't listen to everyone that 25 lbs is the "healthy" weight gain. I gained 50, and it all came off. Obviously, it didn't all fall off, I had to work at it a little bit, but it's off none the less. All women (I would think- ladies you can prbably back me up) think they are "huge" when pregnant, particularly in the third trimester, but I read The Girlfriends Guide to Pregnancy, and I felt much better about myself and my weight gain.

All in all, your pregnancy is sounding very similar to mine- I started dilating very early, was taken off of work, put on bed rest, and told that I would probably go into labor "at least three weeks early". Isaac was born 4 days past his due date, and I was 4cm dilated and 75% effaced the week before I went into labor. Just take it easy, and don't let anyone worry you into thinking that he will come early. And you shouldn't get too excited about it either (I was definitely ready for him to come out "at least three weeks early")- that'll make the days long!

Holy crap Ali. I hope I don't go over... Wait a minute- I am going to ensure that I don't go over. I am planning on scheduling an induction for my due date if he is not here yet (2/27).

This not knowing when it will happen it miserable.

Sorry Noel I didn't answer your question. I have no idea what his hair will be like. Maybe brown. Who knows. It might turn to blonde later. I kinda hope he has my eyes and Chris' hair. Really though, if I have a mini Chris I will be happy. I am biased of course, but I think he is beautiful. I don't know if he would care for me referring to him as beautiful. Oh well. He never reads this thing.

Jamie, you make me laugh with your comments about Chris being beautiful, and then, "Oh well. He never reads this thing." :) Just 2 days ago I called Ryan beautiful over and over because he was part of this Tacky Mustache Competition, and it was HORRIBLE. He won an award for Most Likely To Appear in Adult Films because he totally looked like a 70s porn star. So after 2 months and that terrible thing finally came off, all I could do was stare at his face and tell him how beautiful he was. Man I missed that face!
But speaking of beautiful...your belly is just devine! I have a box of clothes I need to send to you and I can't wait until we hear the good news!!
