We made it through Monday

Wilson went to daycare and I made it through both classes and clinic. My day started at 5:30 am and didn't stop until LITERALLY just now. (I don’t know why I am blogging and not relaxing. This will be short.) What little breakfast and lunch I ate was in class... I don't know if I even went to the bathroom. I'll be right back. ... ... ...

As I was saying, we did it. Wilson had a great day at Mary's. He made a friend, Steven, and almost as soon as I dropped him off started playing. I couldn't believe how well he did when I dropped him off. In fact, looking back on it, he almost kicked me out. He was playing (at the tool box) with Steven and crawled over to the circle rug, sat up strong and proud, and waved goodbye to me. He must have known I was about to cry...

I called to check on him during his nap and he was asleep. He had some trouble falling asleep, without his bear (he isn't aloud to bring toys to daycare), but after a little while he was catching zzz's like the rest of the daycare crew.

When I picked him up he was happy as a clam playing with Mary (he was the last kid there). I gave him the biggest hug ever and he proceeded to "show" me toys from all over the room. He went to and fro grabbing toys and handing them to me. After I inspected them we headed out the door, but before we could leave, Wilson leaned forward to kiss Mary goodbye. It was a good day.

Tomorrow Karen gets in. We are all excited to see her. I am sure she will take pictures galore so be ready for them...

I'm off to bed. Sleep well.

Oh that is so great thay Wilson had a good day with Mary and the kids. I know it is horribly hard to leave them if you know they are miserable. Sounds like a wonderful place to take him on Mondays. Don't lose your spot. She sounds too good to be true.

I'm glad that the day went so well. It always makes me feel better picking Ashlyn up when she has obviously had a good time and doesn't rush out the door.

So glad to hear that everything went well at daycare! It is such a hard thing to do. I know when I leave Salem with girlfriends to run here or there, I drop her off excited to have "me" time to do what I have to do, but also sad because it doesn't seem to bother her either. Mixed feelings about the whole thing is, I guess, the best way to describe it.

I confess - I stop in and read yours too. I also have Jackson in family day care - Mahin has become part of my family, and Jackson loves her as much as we do. I would never have been able to work full time if not for her loving home to have my son in. He has been with her since he was 6 weeks. We now also spend lots of time outside of care together, she says I'm the daughter she never had. I also think the family environment is great for fostering decent values, and just one more thing - I have never felt bad dropping Jackson off with her - every now and again I would have some mother guilt, but I think being around other people is good for my boy, I would go crazy if I were around me all day! so I couldn't expect Jackson to stick around me all day either! Best of luck with the rest of your schooling - hang in there it will be so worth it in the long run. christal
