I’ll start with everything my sweet Wilson is doing lately.
Here are the words he expresses (he has exploded with new ones lately):
· Momma
· Dada
· Papaw
· Buck (his first word)
· boat
· bike
· duck
· quack
· moo
· neigh
· bye-bye
· bus
· jeep (vroom, room)
· hi
· ot oh
· off
· down
· up
· cookie “ka” (he signs and verbalizes)
. that ("dat")
. baby
(June 15 2008- I can't believe I forgot these words... As soon as Wilson woke up he reminded my of a couple more: ball, ouch, low, yes, whoof.)
These are his signs:
· more
· all done
· please
. orange
· elephant (he lifts he arm up and makes a noise I can’t duplicate)
· hi/bye
· motor bike
. shoes
I think the kid understands just about everything we say. He amazes me! Yesterday we went to Joe’s Sporting Goods and as soon as he saw a motor bike, he made a fist with his right hand and proceeded to move his hand up and down (like he was cranking the handle on the bike) while saying, “mmm, mmm, mmmmmm”. I could believe it! I showed him that in a book when we saw a motor bike, but he hasn’t seen one in person before. The fact that he is making all these connections is just unbelievable. Six months ago he barely said Momma. Also, at Joe’s, I told him to go find Papaw and show him what he found. He turned around, went to find Papaw, got his attention and did his motor bike sign. Then he walked back to the motor bike pointing and signing. It was SO cute!!!I tried to video on my cell phone but by the time I was ready to record, he saw a display that looked like the Jeep and started “vrooming” and headed straight for it.
He is such a boy!
He LOVES being outside, trucks, bikes, boats, animals (Buck is still his favorite), dirt, tools, water, dancing, music, and shoes (as if he had a chance).
His favorite toy is, without a doubt, his rocket. He rarely rides it though. Instead he pushes it around the house or outside. He figured out that he can put things in the seat so he is often pushing it around with the polar bear, books, or his sippy along for the ride.
We are working on him not bumping and chancing the dogs with the rocket. When he was younger, it was cute hearing him laugh every time he pushed the rocket (or truck) near the dogs, but now I want to teach him to be kind and "that the dogs have the right the lay there”. (My dad thinks that I am hilarious to say this to Wilson but you have to start teaching these things sooner than later. If anything, it is more so I am consistent rather than Wilson actually understanding the concept.)
We took Wilson’s stats on the 4th of June and he weighed 28 pounds and stood 33 inches tall. I think he has grown in the last few days, so he may be taller now.
Once a week, for 3 hours, Wilson goes to daycare. He loves it! The other children are sweet and I still really like Mary, the provider. Mary said that this week she actually had to make Wilson stop and take a drink. He is non-stop there: in and out, up and down, going from toy to toy.

He looks so much like Chris in that last photo. Usually, when he's smiling, I think he looks like you. I love the bowl on his head! What a cutie!
He is so darling! Next time we come up we should just plan on taking the boys to the park to play. Jonathan keeps telling everyone about Wilson and how he wants to go play with him again. Too cute!
