My brother's horse passed away this past Saturday. He was a wonderful, wonderful horse that will be missed.
Louie gave more children rides than we can count. He was such a laid back and dependable soul.
This past summer, he started to show his age and my family, rightfully, let him rule the farm.
He could be found grazing in the yard on many nights while the other horses stood behind the fence and watched with envy.
These words I write in memory of Louie and all the horses that have touched my life:
On the back of a horse is where dreams are made
On the back of a horse is where fears are met
On the back of a horse is where your confessions become spoken
On the back of a horse is where you see your future
On the back of a horse is where you can touch the sky and feel the breeze cleanse your mind
On the back of a horse is where you become who you have always dreamed of becoming
On the back of a horse...
He went peacfully and naturally. Louie, we love you.

Louie sounds like he was a wonderful horse. I know the farm won't be the same without him but is a better place because of him.
What a nice tribute!
Sorry to hear about your loss. It's just as tragic losing an animal as it is a loved one.
Beautiful words for a beautiful horse.
