I just found Wilson outside... He was supposed to be napping.
I was in my room and didn't hear that he had left his room (I gave him the option of napping with the door open- never again- because I can hear the door open.) After a minute of screaming in the house I decided to go outside.
I found him in the driveway pushing his stroller. (I was scared shitless!!) When I told him that he HAS TO TELL ME WHEN HE GOES OUTSIDE! and that he could have gotten hurt, and that he scared me. He said, "I not go in the road." Well, that is good, I guess.
This scared the crap out of me people!! SO many things COULD have happened. Now we are all in the house the door are locked and we are skipping nap.

My mom had to put little alarms on the doors so she would know when I went outside. We also used them at the daycare I worked at so we knew if a kid tried to make a break for it (cause we had to have doors that the kids could open in an emergency but the kids liked to open them anytime!) I think you can get them at radio shack. Might be something to look into.
I totally would have freaked out too! At least he knows not to go into the street and stayed in the driveway and didn't wonder off!
ACK! I would have FREAKED out! I have drilled into Becca she can't even TOUCH the door handles to the doors going outside. But, she sees all her friends doing it, and I see her testing it out from time to time.It is probably only a matter of time! Our house is wired with an alarm system (that isn't turned on) but we do hear a beep everytime an outside door opens. I wonder if you can get some of those!?
I've totally been there, but Ashlyn has also been a few blocks away, IN THE ROAD!
Yeah, alarms may be a good thing. Or locks at the very top of the door.
This happened to me in the AK. I was on the phone w/my MIL (of all people) and Liv quietly opened the door, followed the dog outside, and over to the Last Frontier Club. I was, ohhhh, several months pregnant and Matt was deployed. An MP found her just as I did. I was running barefoot and pregnant after her. Great.
It happens to all of us at some point and any parent who says it doesn't is LYING!
OMG! I would freakin freak a freak out fit. What a little sneak...;)
I had one of those moments the other day..... SCARY!!!
That's scary. I've been there. Thank God he knew not to go in the street and he was just pushing his stroller. Funny kid.
