Llama Mama we're back from Orcas

Papaw (AKA my Dad) is here for a little visit before he heads off to Colorado for the summer season. While he is here we wanted to explore the Pacific NW a bit.

So, last Saturday we drove to Orcas Island (via the ferry from Anacortes).

We hiked around Moran State Park and made it to the top of Mount Constitution with minimal tears and complaining.
It was a bit chilly but the view was amazingly beautiful.
You could almost see forever. From Vancouver to the north, the Cascade Range and Bellingham to the east, the rest of the San Juans and the Gulf Islands, Anacortes and the Olympic Range to the south.

When children don't want their photo taken sometimes all you can do is laugh.

We stayed at an eclectic hippie farm...

Where you could find just about anything laying around.

And just about every animal on the premises.

While I must admit, I should have done some more investigating before committing to the price we paid for the night.

We still had fun.

Especially Wilson.
He didn't mind the quirkiness and mismatched towels.
He didn't even care that we didn't get breakfast.
He was happy to feed all the animals.

And we were happy to share his joy.
