Our little Nora Lynn isn't so little anymore. She is 17 pounds 15 ounces (91st %ile) and 26.5 inches long (75th%ile).
She is an absolute doll baby. She loves to cuddle and touches your face with a gentle and kind hand.
She is a very HAPPY baby! When she is fussy, typically she can be made content if you hold her or stand with her. But when that doesn't work if you place her in the Ergo carrier she is golden.
She travels like a pro (only about 5 minutes of crying on our trip to Florida). She loves her momma and is very easily soothed.
She is babbling like a star (especially since we got back) producing a variety of consonants: /b,m,d,g,p/
She is sitting up independently now with just a few falls here and there.
It amazing me how much she has developed in the past week or so... (I swear going on vacation seemed to make both the kids grow up.)
She is eating big girl food now and has tried: bananas, apples, pears, cantaloupe, sweet potatoes, peas, and carrots. Her favorites are peas and cantaloupe.
I introduced her to solids much slower than Wilson giving her breaks (or days with just momma's milk) and only feeding her maybe once a day. My hope was that it would help her body adjust to processing food and alleviate constipation. So far, so good.
The past few days she has been eating two meals a day and she is still doing well.
She likes to nurse, but only for food. In other words, she is all business and is not one of those babies (like her brother was) who will use the breast as a pacifier. She is efficient and typically nurses in 4-8 minutes, which is pretty fast. While she nurses, if she isn't holding her ear, she holds her pacifier and places it in her mouth when she is full.
I have her napping twice a day and she is beginning to sleep much better for me. The past few days she has gone 7+ hours without eating at night.
She rolls all over the place! She goes from one side of the room to the other within what seems like seconds... knowing this you would think that I wouldn't walk away with her on the bed... but yesterday I did... she had pillows on one side of here and was positioned so that I thought she would stay put! Plus, she was half asleep and I was only up for a second... but.... she rolled off the bed. Luckily she is fine. She only cried for a second. I watched her fall (it felt like it was happening in slow motion- I just couldn't get there fast enough) and she landed well, flipping on her back avoiding a fall on the head.
She is thinking about pulling her knees under her but at this point has only done it a time or two. For the time being she is happy rolling. Although I am sure crawling won't be that far off.
She still likes to stand on her legs and will pull herself up when you hold her hands.
She laughs a lot, especially at her big brother.
I love her so very much and can not believe she is already six months old!
But I also feels like she has always been here...

She's so cute!
Love you guys! Ashlyn still talks about Wilson in Washington occasionally, like when we picked berries.
Love you guys too! I hope we can get to see each other sometime during the next year, or so. If we move in the fall I will try and fly to you before we move...
