This year I started an awareness garden. I hope to continue every year. Obviously, our awareness this year is breast cancer. Wilson helped me pick out every flower. While we were choosing them we talked about why they needed to be pink. We also talked about how the garden might raise awareness and support for the walk.
It was a great experience and I look forward to doing it again next year. Maybe next year we will do Alzheimer's and plant a purple area. Or yellow to support our troops... There are many wonderful causes to choose from.

If you would like to have an awareness garden too you can use this link to help connect your cause with the appropriate color.

LOVE this idea!!! Too bad there are many teal flower options... :)
I am going to have a gray garden for zombie awareness next summer. Currently, I have a brown garden for drought awareness :)
Really, I love the idea. I just have to laugh at all the ribbons.
LOL,Ang!Love you.
Jenni, You could always spray paint the rocks teal surrounding your garden, making a border. Just a thought. We painted rocks as a project this summer (primary colors) and they look really great in the garden. It adds some really fun POP! to dull spots.
Plus, it is easy and cheap, and it made for at least two afternoons of fun with the kids.
We even use them when we play pirate and hunt for hidden treasures. (they are our gold)
