Our drive was great. We went through Canada in a hurry, but had a great time listening to books on CD and viewing tons of wildlife. We saw just about everything in British Columbia: buffalo, bear, caribou, moose, doll sheep and white tail deer (by the thousands).
After we hit the "lower 48" we slowed down and enjoyed ourselves a little more, spending 5 days driving through Washington. Our first stop in civilization was the Olive Garden. Man... Their bread sticks and salads sure are good. I forgot how much I loved that place!:) After filling myself to the point of explosion we went and picked up my car in Seattle. The Seattle area was nice. We had lunch in the Space Needle, enjoyed the sales racks at the massive REI and were able to visit a friend in Tacoma (hi Allison). Tacoma is really beautiful by the way.
After Seattle we headed on toward Ellensburg where we visited a local fly shop and bought some fishing licenses, a reel for "my fly rod" (We'll see if Chris reads this) and planned our route to Spokane by asking the owner where the good fishing spots were. We drove into Spokane at the end of an annual race, Bloomsday. People were everywhere wearing their running gear. I couldn't believe how many locals were participating in the event. I mean EVERYONE seemed to be participating... Especially families. If I saw one person pushing a running stroller with a young child I saw two hundred and fifty. It was very impressive.
Spokane is a beautiful city! (Have I mentioned that I love the North West!) Spokane reminded me of San Antonio and Knoxville blended into one. Anyway, I recommend making a trip to Washington if you have not had the opportunity. After a night in Spokane we set off for GREAT FALLS. We got into town later that night and picked up the keys to our house, got a hotel room and ordered a big fat Papa John's pizza (Yuck). The next day Chris picked up mail and inprocessed to base while I interviewed local Vet's to operate on Jake. He has really had a "ruff" time but I think he likes the house and is starting to feel at home. It helps that everything is unpacked, in particular his toys. He especially loves laying outside on our back patio.

Awesome! I can't believe you saw all those animals. Very cool.
I am trying to picture San Antonio and Knoxville rolled into one in Washington State. Can't quite picture that one! :)
I'm glad you're settling in, but I miss y'all!
