Chris was able to finishing the Plumbing part of our sprinkler project and we are leak free. Yee Haw. We weren't able to do much else on the sprinkler system though. We had rain from Friday-Sunday.
Monday the weather perked up a little but we had a muddy mess (remember we have no grass yet). I tried to plant flowers on Monday and did not have much success. It was SO windy that I was only able to plant four grass plants and that was a challenge. My landscaping fabric was blowing all over the place and pots were flying through the air like Dorothy on the Wizard of Oz.
When we moved here everyone said that is was windy. In fact, some of them greeted us with a catch phrase: "Welcome to our windy little city." However, I was not ready to admit to myself that there was a down fall to Montana. When we arrived here I was wearing shorts! It was sunny and 70 degrees. Everywhere I looked was "big sky" and I could see horses from my kitchen and bedroom windows. The "breeze" was warm and refreshing. But now, when I am trying to plant flowers, the BREEZE is a pain in my ass... Hey, I'll get used to it. I got used to minus 50. Right?

Everywhere you go will be at least not "Freezing in Fairbanks at Fifty Below."
Have fun planting.
I HATE wind. I hate it more than just about everything else--except perhaps 50 below. I sympathize. Screw the plants. They'll probably juts all blow away!! :) Just have a beer and relax!
Oh--one good thing? at least the wind will keep away any annoying little things like MOSQUITOES!!!!
I got more plants planted last night. I am soo proud! Ang, love that you quoted that book. Katie, you ain't kiddin about the good qualities of the wind. The other night it was still as can be (the wind) and I was bit like three times. Our friend Courtney was over and she ended up with 7 or more bites. I thought that we got away from them!!! Noooooo!!
