Memorial Weekend

~ Update at bottom~

Well, here it comes, our first four day weekend to work on the house. We have so many projects that I am feeling a little overwhelmed. I want to do it all and of course my LOST self is coming out in full force. In case you don't know, Chris calls me LOST (Line of sight tasking). I call it multi-tasking. I have been going all over town trying to find the best deal on everything from fencing to flowers and have managed to cut out the "middle man" on a few things saving us some bucks. But while I am running around town being "LOST" I should be working at the house. Hey, I had to go to base and this place was on the way... You know the story. It's easy to dip your hand in more than one bucket.

This weekend our plan of attack is the yard. I never realized how much went into a yard... This leads me to our sprinkler system our real plan this weekend. Everyone says, "Oh it's nothing, a piece of cake". ARE YOU KIDDING ME!?! We spent over an hour last weekend talking to the plumbing guy at a local hardware store and there was a point when I just CHECKED OUT. I felt like I was on another planet. I swear he was speaking another language. I just began to politely nod my head and smile. I kept saying, uh huh. Yeah. My journey to Mars came when the plumber started talking about the water line, manifolds, flow rate and valves.

There is a lot about sprinkler systems I do not know but I think that Chris has it figured out. At least he is determined to. In preparation every night this week he has come home and practiced sweating pipe (that sounds so funny). He feels confident that he can do the plumbing stuff and I have to say I am impressed. I think he will be a fine Plumber. BUT in case we have any issues I am filling up some buckets with water!!Keep your fingers crossed.

Friday night update: Water to the house is back on!! Chris has been hard at work all day and is still going (10:30pm). He has to sweat some joints that are leaking but I think he can fix it. This has seriously been a lot of work (for Chris). Gotta run. I think he needs a beer break.

A sprinkler system isn't something that I would begin to attempt, though Allen would probably want to. Good luck

~~I am begining to think that you two (and maybe Lola and Courtney) are the only ones who read this thing!!~~

I hope it looks good when we are done. You should see the flowers I picked up yesterday. They are beautiful! I would go plant them but it rained soooo hard las night. We actually had a bit of hail and considering that we have no grass yet our "yard" is now a muddy mess. fun.

We're just the only people who comment. I don't get many, either, but then someone in my family will tell me they check everyday.

With all that mud, you should be careful not to slip when you walk Jakedog for a potty break.... :) I am still laughing about that!

First, let me comment to Ang. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. I've heard that story. I may have to post a comment plea like Katie. That seemed to increase her comments.

Second, Haha Court. If I had a dollar everytime my klutz self made somebody laugh I would be a rich soul.:) Glad I could be of service.

Hey - I feel behind. Everyone else has commented 2-3 times on this. Where have I been?!? I still have no idea what sweating pipe is but it sounds technical. I hope it all works out for you. Good luck, girl.

Yeah, sweating pipe sounds real "technical."
