Meet Buckeye...

The newest member of our family. (We plan on calling him Buck.) He is a nine week old black lab. I just picked him up this evening.

Awwww...nothing like a retriever puppy to melt your heart. What does Jake think? Was he "planned?"

Ah Man - I wish I had known you were in the market. I know a Chesapeake Bay Retriever who would love a new home.

BTW - love the name Buckeye. So cute.

No kidding, Laura! I have a golden that's available as well. Takers? Anyone?

What a cutie!

Needed some more fertilizer for the lawn, eh?

After last night, there is a beagle up for a new home, too. Stupid dog. Ashlyn slept through the night, which she hasn't been doing lately, and Ranger had me up 3 times.

oh my gosh!!! What a cutie! Reminds me of when Aja was little and still had a puppy-face. :) I hope potty training goes well and that you have LOTS of chew toys!

Yeah, he was kinda planned. We have been debating on getting another dog for some time. We obviously decided it was a good idea, mostly for Jake.

I think they seem to be adjusting to each other very well. Both dogs seem to like each other. The next few weeks of potty training and chewing guidance will be challenging. I am so glad that we were able to get Buckeye now and not later in the pregnancy or after the baby. Sleeping with a puppy (especially one who snores, LOUDLY) is not very restful. Our hope is that Jake will have a brother he loves and that they will be true buddies.

Are you both smoking crack? A new lab puppie and a baby on the way? You do know that most labs are not like Jake was when he was a puppy, so calm and lazy. Good Luck with that! But Buckeye is very cute!!!
Was your friend serious about finding a home for a CB Retriever? Where does she live? We would love to have one? Hopefully not a puppy though. Let me know.
We will have another post tomorrow with climbing pictures from the weekend.

The Chesey lives in North Pole. I'm assuming you are in Ohio? Damn it!

And Jame - if it's any consolation, I think you are nuts, too, but more power to ya. I hope it all works out as planned.

Andie will be so jealous when I tell her about Buckeye. Hope all is going well for you. Matt left on Wednesday. Good luck with all the puppy training. Ruger would love to have a playmate too.
