On Saturday we explored downtown Portland’s Pearl district, where I found a jacket and some awesome boots. (Anyone who knows me knows that I love shoes, especially boots. But, my new boots were both necessity and pleasure. My feet changed so much with pregnancy that almost ALL my old shoes hurt my feet. It’s pretty disappointing because I have collected some great shoes over the years and it will not be an easy collection to replace. It may not be an easy job, but I am willing to stand up to the challenge. Watch out Nordstrom’s Rack, here I come.)
After the Pearl District we headed to Chris’ work Christmas party. The party was about 40 minutes outside the city (Vancouver) in the countryside of Washington at a beautiful barn. It was gorgeous.
The upstairs of the barn is where the party was held and I have to say that I have never seen a barn quite so unique. They had a real basketball court upstairs. I’m talking varnished wood here people. It was amazing! I loved it!! I loved meeting everyone and mingling with Chris’ coworkers and their families. I wish we could have stayed longer but… Santa arrived late so by the time Wilson met him it was WAY past bedtime and very close to the breaking point.Santa finally arrives, after Rudolph got lost in Washington.

Wilson meets Santa. He doesn't look so bad...

Let me just touch his face...

I don't like the white fuzzy stuff. Who is this man?

DADDY COME BACK!!

I don’t know if Wilson would have been as upset about meeting Santa if he met him earlier but never-the-less, he sure didn’t care too much for him.
Sunday we headed out to a shopping mall, about 20 minutes from downtown, to look for some men stores. Chris found a jacket and suit from the Patrick James store so the trip was a success. (For those of you reading from Ohio the mall was very similar to the Easton Mall in Columbus.) Sunday was doggy day with Santa. So the mall was covered with dogs. I wish I would have taken the time to take a picture of all of them standing in line to get their pictures taken with Santa. It was crazy. It was raining and the wait was over and hour long! People were holding umbrellas over their dressed up pooches and all the while shaking in their cold boots. Crazy! I have to admit, I have had Jake’s picture taken with Santa before but don’t think that I will EVER stand in a long line in the pouring rain to get my dogs (or child for that matter) photographed with Santa Claus. Just don’t see it happening.
Monday morning Wilson and I flew back to Spokane and we landed just in time for my dentist appointment. The appointment went much better. In fact, I feel the need to retract the comment I made about dentists not being personable people. My doctor was kind and talkative this time… I guess she figured that she will be seeing a lot of me; so she should loosen up. My teeth were still drilled, gums were still prodded and shots were still implemented. Have I mentioned before that I go through anesthesia with lightening speed? The dentist could hardly believe how fast the anesthetic wore off. She needed to give two additional shots before she could finish with one tooth. Had I known this last February, I would have chosen the Epidural rather than the shot…
Back to the dentist, I only have three more appointments to go. yey. (can you tell that is a somber yey?) Hopefully the next appointments will be much faster than the last two; because no matter how personable you are three hours in a dentist chair is not fun.
Yesterday and today Wilson has been catching up on some sleep while I have been craving food that I can’t chew and reading for school.
We head back to Portland Thursday. Then fly to Ohio from there, on Friday. We will be in the Buckeye state from Friday to Wednesday so if I don’t post before... MERRY CHRISTMAS!!

I know you'll be super-busy with visiting family, but Isaac and I will be in G-polis too so give me a call if you want!
Great, great pictures!!!!
Have a Merry Christmas!
I absolutely LOVE the unhappy Santa pictures. Too cute. But shoe shopping? Ugh. That is my least favorite task.
Have fun in OH!
That top Santa picture is PRICELESS! That should win a prize or something!! Have a wonderful Christmas!
I can't beleieve your feet have changed that much. That sucks. If you're starting over, I am a size 8.5 and accept all hand-me-downs. :)
