My Dad is in Mexico, Chris is in Vancouver and Wilson and I are living it up. We have been busy with chores and enjoying the area. Saturday Chris flew in and I dragged him to the Ride the West Expo. He literally got off the plane and we went straight to the fair grounds. I didn’t even give him the choice. Here is the conversation we had when he got in the car:
Me: Are you hungry because we can go to Prospectors (a restaurant near the airport) or the fairgrounds.
CS: The FAIRGROUNDS?!
ME: Yeap! We’re going to the expo…
ME: Yeap! We’re going to the expo…
CS: I am going to be hot in these pants.
ME: You brought shorts in your carry-on, right?
CS: Silence while starring in disbelief at the freeway exit to our house.
ME: Cheesy grin followed by a hand squeeze.
We had a great time! I, of course, was in horse heaven! I watched the most amazing trail competition of my life. It is called the extreme trail challenge. It was amazing. Wilson seemed to enjoy all the horses, tractors, and cows. Of course, he loved all the people too. Chris just loved seeing us so happy.

Yesterday, Chris continued to be my rock star by changing out the lights in the kitchen. The wonderfully out-dated, safety hazard, fluorescent lights are now replaced with 5 glorious recessed lights. It looks amazing!! We still need to touch up the drywall in the ceiling but man-o-man does it look SO much better!!
Because the kitchen was a wreck after the demo on the ceiling Wilson and I had a lot of cleaning up to do today. So, I gave him a sponge and let him clean all his toys in his sensory table while I washed down the cabinets, walls and countertops. (I would have let him go to town on the cabinets but this house is old and I am afraid that he doesn’t need to be messing with all the dust from the 50’s.) He had a ball washing his toys, and the patio, and I had a ball watching him.
I managed to mow the yard today too, which was interesting. Here are the steps taken to fulfill the task:
Step 1: Set up the pack-in-play (p-n-p).
Step 2: Move the mower to front.
Step 3: Place child in p-n-p.
Step 4: Contain dogs.
Step 5: Start mower.
Step 6: Realize p-n-p is falling down and child is climbing out.
Step 7: Stop mower.
Step 8: Get child.
Step 9: Fix p-n-p and place (now screaming) child back in.
Step 10: Start mower.
Step 11: Mow.
Step 12: Repeat above steps in backyard.
Alright I need to hit the hay. I am loving every single second with my little man and look forward to the rest of our week together.
On a much different note:
**PRAYER REQUEST***One of our dear friends, Katie, and her family could use your prayers and well wishes tomorrow. Katie is pregnant with her second child and the baby has a virus from a virus Katie had, fifth disease. Tomorrow they are giving the baby a blood transfusion into the umbillical cord, using a needle, guided by ultrasound.

We used to have a soft corner. It kind of got taken over by toys. I need to reorganize the room. We do not have a sensory table. I'd like to see a picture of yours. Though, our house is so small, I can't add anything else to it. Love that had Wilson cleaning his toys. I'm so bad about that stuff. My kids will grow up to be complete slobs who could care less about taking care of their things. We've lost more puzzle pieces, doll clothes, and crayons than I can count!
Fairground event sounded fun fun fun!
