Victoria Day Camping Trip to Baker Lake, WA

May 22-24, 2010

As I have already mentioned, we borrowed our friend’s camper and their inflatable boat.

We drove to Baker Lake, about two hours away from our house. We spent two nights there at a camp site just a short walk from the Lake.

The first evening two other camp sites being used, but on our second day and night we had the entire place to ourselves. It was like we had our own private piece of paradise.

Much of the landscape reminded us of Alaska.

The weather has been unseasonably cool. During our camping weekend we had temps in the 50s and each day was filled with sun and short periods of rain.  Considering the rain that came the following weekend we can’t complain about the weather we had.

Chris and Wilson enjoyed taking the boat on the lake. Chris rowed to the other side of the lake and they explored the area and managed to do a little fishing in the streams. The pictures they took are priceless.

Nora and I spent some quality time at the camper.  We napped or she napped and I read. It was a very relaxing and enjoyable time for me. I would have loved to go with the boys out on the lake but it was too cold for Nora.

Together we cooked on the fire, played ball, and enjoyed being together as a family for THREE solid days. It was really a great little get away.
