(I guess I forgot to have him wash his face after dinner. Oops. A little ketchup mask never hurt anyone. Right?)
I didn't know if he would last the whole night but he did. He slept All. Night. Long. There were a few times when he was stirring that I asked him if he wanted to go inside to his bed, but he just rolled over and buried his face under his Moving Bear. Now Momma's sleep is a different story... At around 1:30 I was woken up to the smell of Buckeye's gas. Not a pleasent thing to wake up to. Just. Terrible. Not something ANYONE should have to experience. Don't worry he was immediately evacuated from the tent!
After the smell dissipated I was still wide awake! I just laid in the tent wishing and wondering. Wishing that I could fall asleep and that my sleeping bag was more comfortable and wondering when sweet little Nora would wake up wanting to nurse.
Needless to say, she woke up at 5 am, 45 minutes after I fell asleep (or at least 45 minutes after I last checked the time). Luckily though she went back to sleep until 7:30.
Wilson woke up around 6:30 declaring that it was "pretty out" and we should wake up. I told him it was pretty but I still needed sleep and he ended up going back to sleep until 9. When Nora woke up for the day she was so loud that I could hear her outside without the monitor (the batteries died). This would have been one of those mornings that Chris getting the baby would have been wonderful but... Oh well.
A night with out sleep was worth every memory that we made. I loved how excited Wilson was and I consider myself lucky to have shared the experience with him. And Wilson should consider himself lucky to have slept through the stink bomb.
