I know some of you are stuck on British Columbia and what Chris is doing in LA, so I will feed your interest… We are all moving to BC and are super excited to move there! I won't be able to join Chris until the first of May because I am planning on staying here for my internship. (My internship starts in January and goes through the first week of May. My graduation is May 8th.) I don't know where I am going to do my internship (hospital, school, or a clinic) but, today, I requested to be placed at a NICU or a birth-to-three center. I have limited clinical experiences in that area and lately have found myself being pulled to that population. I love birth-to-three! I always have. Who knows? It may not work out. I might end up at a school, which would be easier with Wilson because of the schedule, but I just had to try. Back to Chris, he really loves his job. The project he is working on in LA is actually a really great opportunity. He is looking into a project where his company will work with the Army Corps of Engineers in… Guam! How awesome is that? He leaves next week for a few weeks in Guam. Seriously, Guam! So awesome! Unfortunately, Wilson and I aren't going to get to go to Guam, but we are going to LA. (Can I hear a Mickey Mouse here we come?) We fly out on Friday to meet up with Chris and, of course, head to Disneyland.
Now, I'll move onto Wilson's firsts, the whole reason for this post.
1. Wilson is sleeping in a big boy bed! Since we moved Chris' extra bed up we decided to go ahead and transition Wilson into it. (He is big enough to crawl out of the crib so we needed to do it soon.) We placed the bed on its box spring on the floor so there is less of a fall if/when he rolls out. The little man is really lucky. He is sleeping on a queen! We plan on it being Wilson's bed until he is gone or until he reaches 6.6, which ever come first. This is Wilson's 3rd night in the "big boy" bed and he has done fantastic. It really is adorable to see him in the bed. He wants Jake to sleep with him so both boys are happy. Jake seems to feel like he has a place in the house again and Wilson feels like a big boy.

2. Wilson started flossing his teeth. Crazy, I know. He asked for some the other night so I handed him a piece. Let me tell ya, I couldn't believe how well he did. You'd think he had been doing it for years. He stuck it in his mouth and between his teeth. I have to video it. It is great. Unbelievable and great. My only goal is that this boy has better habits than me when it comes to teeth.
3. Brownies- Wilson helped me make browines on Friday. He greased the pan, poured the oil and water, and even stirred. They tasted good too!! So good that the dogs got the pan off the counter (a glass casserole) and ate the browines as well as pieces of glass (it broke). I guess that is two firsts: baking brownines for W and eating glass for the dogs.

4. "My mommy" is what Wilson said today on our way out of the house. He has been on a "mine" kick lately, but the "my mommy" is new.

Your new location is going to be so great! What a great opportunity!!
I LOVE it here in Portugal. Gosh, I could live here for good. But, I'm always excited to see where the military will move us next. Not too excited about Kansas, but, I'm sure once I get over my heartbreak about leaving Portugal, I'll like it and find interesting things about the place. We find out next month if we're 100% sure we're going to Kansas and when we get the word, I'm going to start looking in to preschools, gymnastic classes, food co-ops, and all that kind of stuff to help me get excited. B/c leaving here will be the hardest move I've ever had to make.
Anyway, I went off on a total rant. Did you have to give your dog vaseline sandwiches to help him pass the glass through his stomach? Ouch! Poor dog!
Wilson is just too cute! Flossing?! Wow, I haven't even attempted that w/my kids!
Holy cow - that's a jammed packed post. Wow! You have a lot going on.
I'm so happy that there's end in sight to the living apart. I have never been to BC but have heard nice things about it. Can't wait to hear what you guys think of it.
That is awesome that Wilson is already in a big-boy bed. Thank goodness the transition was easy for you. We had trouble but it's the best thing ever, now.
B.C. sounds great!!!!!! I would loooovvvvve to live there! You're so lucky that you get to keep moving around to all these cool climate cities. Take me with you to get me the heck out of here!
Awesome about Vancouver. I have heard nothing but great things about that area!
Wilson is so cute curled up on that big bed!
I'm so glad you and Chris will be living together again although I am sad it won't be in Spokane. Perhaps we will have to visit Canada!
What time is your graduation on the 8th. I checked my schedule for next semester and I should be done with class about 12:30 on Fridays and I would love to come up. Let me know so I can put you down on my calendar.
Yea Wilson for the big boy bed! Jonathan won't bake with me unless its someones birthday.
Wilson is really doing a lot. Flossing is really impressive. And, that is really cute that Jake is sleeping with him. I wish that Ranger would sleep with Ashlyn. Of course, maybe not, then I would have to wash her quilt more often and that isn't generally good for quilts. Anyway, I'm rambling.
As I told you on the phone, BC will be great. When we visited we really liked Victoria. The World's Fair was in Vancouver so it was kind of crowded and very expensive as I remember. It was all beautiful, though. And, such a nice thing about moving frequently is that even when you don't like somewhere, you'll be leaving soon.
It sounds like you guys have a lot of things going on. BC sounds so exciting! Ed and I visited Victoria and loved it. I'm sure that Vancouver will be just as beautiful.
